Welcome to the Christina community!

Welcome to the Christina Homeowners Association (CHOA) website.

The CHOA is comprised of seven subdivisions - Christina Woods Unit 1, Christina Woods Phase 5, Christina Woods Phase 6, Christina Woods Annex, Christina Lakes, and Christina Estates. We are located in south Lakeland between South Florida Avenue and Hwy 540A and we have entrances at both places. There is also an entrance to the Christina area off Carter Road directly across from the entrance to The Club at Eaglebrooke.

According to documents in the Polk County Historical Museum, in the days of phosphate mining, the owner of the mining operation located near here named the mine after his daughter, Christina. The name stuck to the entire area. People still recall fondly the days when they could camp, ride horses, race dirt bikes and generally just hang out in the woods on the property where our homes now sit!

Around 1972, the owners at the time, wanted to do something with the land after it had been mined for phosphate. They decided to build houses. And since the area had already been referred to as 'Christina,' because of that long-ago mining operation, this area south of Lakeland became known as Christina.

Today, it is a collection of beautiful neighborhoods, with wide oak-tree lined streets. There are 341 homes in Christina in 2017.

We hope you are happy in your home among new friends!
